Robin Williams' former home in San Francisco's prestigious Sea Cliff neighborhood has sold for $18.1 million after spending more than a year on the market. The nearly 11,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style residence was built in 1926 and features six bedrooms, sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a host of unique design elements, including secret passageways, a hidden bar, and custom metal sculptures decorating the exterior.

The home was first listed for $25 million in October 2023 but underwent a price cut to $20 million in September 2024, following a period of limited buyer interest. After the adjustment, interest picked up quickly, leading to multiple offers. The property entered contract in December 2024 and finalized its sale on January 23, 2025.

Steven Mavromihalis of Compass represented the sellers, while Robert Landsness of Engel and Völkers represented the undisclosed buyers, whose identities are linked to the Seacliff Holdings Trust. Public records list Daniel Hu as the trustee.

Robin Williams’ History with the Property Williams and his then-wife, Marsha Garces Williams, purchased the property in 1991 for $3.2 million. The couple raised their children in the home until their divorce in 2010, at which point Garces Williams retained ownership. Known for his attachment to San Francisco, Williams frequently mentioned his love for the city, making the Sea Cliff property a meaningful part of his legacy.

Architectural and Design Features The home blends classic Mediterranean architecture with playful design elements that reflect Williams’ personality. The secret bar, hidden passageways, and artistic metal sculptures stand out as key features. In addition to its interior charm, the property boasts extensive outdoor living spaces with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Marin Headlands.

A History of High-Profile Sales This sale marks the second time Robert Landsness has worked with buyers purchasing a former Williams estate. In 2016, he represented clients who acquired Villa Sorriso, Williams’ Napa County estate, for $18.1 million. That property was also notable for its luxury amenities, including vineyards and a private theater.

The Sea Cliff neighborhood has long been a magnet for wealthy and influential residents, thanks to its secluded location, coastal views, and proximity to San Francisco landmarks. Other celebrity homes in the area have commanded equally high price tags in recent years, reflecting the continued demand for prime real estate in the city.

Despite fluctuating real estate trends, the successful sale of Williams' former home highlights the enduring appeal of properties tied to the late actor’s legacy.
