The Oakland Roots and Oakland Soul soccer clubs have landed a major upgrade: the prized former Raiders headquarters and training facility at 1150–1220 Harbor Bay Parkway in Alameda. San Francisco‑based Redco closed on the $24 million acquisition yesterday and immediately leased the 118,847 sq ft property to both teams.

Previously owned by the city of Oakland and Alameda County, the two-building campus sold to Redco will now host both men’s and women’s teams under a 15‑year lease, with extension options up to 25 years. The clubs’ Chief Real Estate Officer, Lydia Tan, said the rent begins low and gradually increases—designed to allow the teams to reinvest in amenities like expanded fields, updated locker rooms, showers and other infrastructure.

Once the Raiders’ NFL base until their 2020 Las Vegas move, the facility includes media rooms, steam rooms with whirlpools, conference rooms, an indoor gym, outdoor pool, grass training fields, and gated parking. Prologis had earlier pursued the property but dropped plans in December, paving the way for Redco’s strategic buy. City and county officials are expected to net around $11 million each after closing costs. By securing this long-term deal, the Roots and Soul have cemented their position in the East Bay, ensuring stability and room to grow as they build toward future seasons.
